The Ice Cream Bloke
So there is this guy who is from Australia named Steve. He called me up one day and said that his family was on vacation in Idaho and staying with some friends. His friends told him about Sub Zero and that he needed to visit it. Well, it turns out that he works for a company in St. Louis that sells ice cream making equipment and then teaches those who buy it how to use it. In other words, he teaches others how to own and operate ice cream stores! And he considers himself to be an ice cream connoisseur. Since he travels a lot for his job, he visits different ice cream places and records them, and then posts them to his website called icecreambloke.com. Well, we are now episode number 24! That's right, he recorded us, and you can watch it at www.icecreambloke.com. It's pretty good I must say. After the second night it was posted, I received a phone call from a man in Toronto who wanted to learn more about Sub Zero franchising opportunities. Funny how this stuff happens! Go Sub Zero Ice Cream!

All Holidays and the weather...blah!
We love the holidays here at Sub Zero. Whenever kids are out of school, our business really picks up. I like to think of those days as windows into the summer. The trend is that a Sub Zero store will typically do twice the volume in the summer that it does in the winter. Well, we have been having some killer winter nights so we're stoked to see what the summer will bring! However, whenever it is cold, or rainy or snowy, we can totally see a direct correlation in our sales. For some reason, people don't like eating ice cream when it's -10 degrees outside, windy, and dropping a foot of snow! Imagine that lol.

Valentine's Day
Hey all! So how was your Valentine's Day? I cannot believe all the holidays that have been falling close to the weekends lately. It's nice, but also not so nice at the same time. For instance, Halloween was on a Friday. Friday's are one of our best days, and Halloween was soooo slow! So we lost that Friday. If Halloween had been on a Wednesday for instance, (one of our slower days) it wouldn't have been a big deal. Well, Valentine's day was on Saturday. It was a good day, but we only made about 30 more ice creams today than we did last Saturday. So I guess I am kinda wishing that holidays were falling on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday so that our normally slower days would be boosted by the holiday! Oh well. lol All-in-all it was a pretty good weekend considering how crappy the weather was.
I hope you all had a great Valentine's Day!
